I'm back! And I KNOW you missed me!

Home! And a long trip it was. Lots and lots of driving. So Jamie is in Indiana at Earlham now. Making me a figurative only child. We'll see how this works out. Oh, and BTW, congrats to Louisville for winning the Little League World Series! I was cheering for Worcester (that's WOO-ster as in wool) but when Kentucky beat them, I was cheering for KY to win the Series. And they did. Good for Aaron Alvey and the rest of the team (of course, I'm sure they all played beautifully.)

Anyhow, the trip out. We took two days. About 5 hours on Wednesday evening, before stopping at a motel, and then around 11 hours on Thursday. It wasn't really that bad. We were kind of crowded though, with all of Jamie's stuff. So we got into Cinci on Thursday evening. They had a Japanese exchange student who had just come in. He spoke about five words of English, and they spoke about five words of Japanese. It was kinda odd, not much verbal communication going on there. But it was pretty fun to try and talk through sign language.

On Friday morning we went to Earlham and met Jamie's roommate (who is a subject in himself, and will be discussed later.) They had all these activities at Earlham and the people are incredibly hyperly crazy, but it was pretty fun. My parents think Jamie will be overwhelmed by the peppiness of the people, but I don't think he'll mind too much. We stayed in a motel in Indiana overnight, went to breakfast there on Saturday, said goodbye to Jamie, and went back to Cincinnati.

Back in Cincinnati we went to lunch at a pretty nice place. Then, as the parents were going to an art museum to see an exhibit on Egypt (which I've seen WAY too much of,) me, Jamie (the friend, not bro) and Shin (Japanese exchange student) wandered around Cincinnati. In the beginning it was really boring, cause no one knew what to do (hey, it's not my fault Jamie can't find anything to do in his own city) and none of us were talking. However, me and Jamie started talking a bit after we went into the library (not interesting) and we were walking around some more, so that's OK. We had a relativly good time after that, and all was well. On reflection, I think Jamie still has the $10 my parents gave him to keep for me in case I wanted to buy something (I had no pockets.) Oh well, I told him he could keep it if they didn't ask about it.

Anyway, we didn't do much the rest of the time in Cinci. We left at 1:00 PM on Sunday, drove about half the way before stopping at an awful motel and then driving the rest of the way home today. And so, here I am!

I promised to talk about bro's rommate, correct? Well, I'm not sure if I'd mentioned anything about him before in here, but his name's Graham and he's from North Carolina. I don't THINK he has any ties to Priire. He is a platinum blonde, and tall, therefore being very easy to spot in a crowd. It was his birthday on Saturday (he's 19, bro Jamie's 17) and in the welcoming ceremony they gave him a present. It was pretty funny. Later he told us that it was just a bunch of Earlham stuff, like a frisbee. Anyway, his sister was really nice too. She's older than him, just graduated college. They seemed like they were really close, which was nice. She said that they went to Europe together this summer. Me and my bros are not even near that close. It's really sad. I kinda wish we were. But it's a bit too late now, oh well. The only other thing I was going to say about Graham is that he told us he went to four different schools in four years for high school, and not because they moved, either. He said he liked boarding school, but boarding school didn't like him. Hehehe, trouble maker alert! LoL. Fun! My parents were a little worried though. I'm sure everything will be fine.

I was extremely happy about this year's Travers Stakes at Saratoga (which is the best racetrack I've been to, keeping in mind I've never been to Churchill.) The main reason for this? Remember Repent? He's finally back from his injury!!! He ran in the Travers his first race back, which seemed a little bit risky, but he came in a very close second, and might have won on a fast track (it was very rainy and muddy) or if given an extra few strides. I was very proud of him! And War Emblem lost in the Pacific Classic at Del Mar after acting up in the gate. Bob Baffert, as usual, blamed everyone but himself. Hmm, Bob, maybe if you didn't train your horses so that ALL of them act up because you think it shows "spirit!" Bob Baffert is really trying my patience. He needs to shut up and stop whining. I'm also glad that Came Home won that race, leaving him undefeated on the West Coast. Came Home is a pretty small horse, and it's nice to see him win.

I love my Red Sox SOOOOO much!!!!!!!!! They were behind 9-5 going into the ninth inning. They then tied it up to force extra innings, and in the 10th inning, Johnny Damon led off with a home run!!!! Because they were at Fenway, that ended the game, and they won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!! This, like, just happened, and I'm jumping off the walls!
