Revelation, ranting and the A's
Short entry, because, as usual, I have barely anything to say, just a few revelations that have come to me in the past couple of days that should be shared with you, the masses, and possibly a rant or two.

Well, actually, I guess there’s only one revelation. However, you should all listen very closely to this one, it’s extremely important. Okay, here it is: Boxcar Racer is possibly the WORST band on the planet. I swear, it’s the truth. It makes me sick to listen to their single “I Feel So…” It’s such a BAD song! I like Blink 182; they’re very good. However, the reason they formed a whole new band that the members of Blink 182 all play in (only Mark doesn’t play on some songs) is because the music with Boxcar Racer is so awful it would make Blink fans cry! I’m sorry, but they are so bad. Ugh. I’m very disgusted. Now remember, this has been an important revelation, so take it to heart (unless, of course, you happen to like them, in which case, ignore everything I’ve said.)

The Oakland A’s are very quickly becoming my second favorite baseball team. It’s very refreshing to go to a team’s message board and not see stupid comments about how much the Yankees or the Red Sox suck, and how they’re doing such stupid things, and little petty remarks. The rivalry is good in ways, because it gives the teams a kind of motivation, but you need to give it a rest! I respect the Yankees, even if I hate them. Derek Jeter is a good player; I know that, I would never deny that, even though in many ways he’s the heart of the Yankees. Anyway, the Oakland message board has real questions about the players, real concerns about the team, and no petty comments. I started to look at Oakland’s page a lot because Hatte is over there, and he IS my favorite player and all. However, I also look a Montreal for Troy, but I don’t particularly like them. Oakland has a certain allure to them. I dunno. All the Oakland players look like fun, nice people, it’s just a nice team. I saw a show about a few of the A’s and how they live. Eric Chavez, Mark Mulder, and some other guy, whose name I missed live together, and they’re incredibly laid back and funny. I like the vibe over there.

However, something I don’t appreciate about Oakland at the moment is the fact that they were just involved in a three team trade with the Tigers and…the Yankees. In this trade, the Yankees got the only good player on the Tigers, a pitcher named Jeff Weaver, and sent a not so great pitcher named Ted Lilly to the A’s with 2 minor leaguers and the A’s sent their big rookie prospect 1st baseman, Carlos Pena to Detroit. Ugh. The Yankees keep going out and buying more and more players. It’s damn frustrating. They don’t even need another pitcher! And, I don’t like Oakland sending away Pena (who was, coincidentally, a housemate of Mulder and Chavez) because he would have been really good had they given him a chance. I firmly believe that. The only good thing about it is that both Pena and Hatte play 1st base. All they get is Ted Lilly, who I really don’t think highly of, and maybe some good minor leaguers, I’m not sure. I don’t like it one bit.

Went to Costco today. They sell lots of stuff there. Lots of stuff=fun. Made double chocolate brownies from a four-pack of brownie mix tonight. Yummy.

OK, I be going to sleep. Home Run Derby tomorrow (well, really today, as it’s past midnight) then All-Star game (with six Red Sox) on Tuesday! Not really that short of an entry after all. Rants will do that to ya.
